Help anyone, I have just encountered my first clustered Virtual Replicator (4.xxx). I did not see any disk drive letters as cluster resources. There was a problem in another area of the system and not with the disks, but for next time I would be more confident if I know what is going on.

Virtual replicator is a layer between the the presented storage and the LUNs as seen by the O/S. When Virtual replicator is installed in a cluster a resource DLL is installed to deal with the virtualised storage. The cluster resource that contains the virtualised storage is a SCE pool. Individual disks are not visible. This means that a failure will mean that the whole pool moves to a surviving node and all of the disks created from the pool will move also.
What you saw was correct, there are no visible storage if they are Virtual replicator disks, you only see the pool. That is to say unless there are other non Virtual replicator in the cluster, the Quorum for example.. hope that answers your question |
