The Goverment have now said that it has postponed the introduction of the WEEE regulations untill sometime in 2006.

The WEE regulations are to be introduces around April next year. There have been some changes and they are to be announced soon?
Resellers and wholesalers have been give different information with regard to disposal of electrical items. I was informed that I can carry new lamps and flourescent lamps in my car it's o.k. If the lamps or tubes are blown, then they are classed as hazardous waste and I cannot carry. Where is all this going to end? |

How do I get out of here? |
When we have more people employed by the government checking that department A is checking department B is duplicating C & so on than can be sustained by the rest of the people working in the private sector...

A better way of getting rid of WEEE - There's an organisation that takes broken PC monitors for free. I believe they send them by the truck load to somewhere in Eastern Europe, where they are repaired and sold. The only catch is they would only take 50 at a time from us (though that may be because we're so remote). If anyone wants details, let me know.

Thats a good idea, but some of the antiques I have seen I am not so sure they wold be suitable.
Our local council have a disposal site for home use, but you need a to fill out paper work. You also need proof of your address and you are limited to the number of electrical items that you can dispose of. |
