A had a very odd fault the other week and intermittant.

When either a copy or scan was processed the backside of the print had an overal dark background, but the information was still visible.

The fault was on the ADF (backside copy)and was traced to the Ziff connector sockect mounted on the scanner.

The repair is not for the faint hearted as it involves the use of a soldering iron (yes, you can still buy them, but you need to know how to use it). Some of the joints were dry, once resoldered it has been fine.
