Bit of a weird one, every few weeks a 5550 on site loses its firmware. It comes up with the error message "rfu load error resend rfu over parallel port"
Each time i visit and reload the firmware via laptop and parallel cable. (latest version from hp website)

The printer then works fine for a few weeks then falls over again.

Has anyone come across this fault/reccomend replacement parts. I was going to replace the formatter board first off but after a quick look on partsufer there is a firmware dimm.

This is a weird one and not one that I have seen.

I would replace the Firmware Flash dimm as this would be the most likely cause.

Let me know if you still have a problem after your well deserved break and I can contact a few people.

Now that i've had a break I'm going to replace the firmware dimm and then monitor the printer for a while.
