I am looking for a basic printer for mobile use (12volts). As long as it prints, the features are not that important.
Should I use a purpose built unit or should I use an inverter (12-230 Volt). Open to any suggestions if you have any experience? |

I should get out more. |
Hi Oscar
It depends on what you want to use it for. 12v printers do tend to be a little expensive and are used for specialist purposes. For example for our motorsport sprints and hillclimbs we use a simple 12v dot matrix printer for the times. These simple printers retail for £200 - £300 and are very low spec. If you have enough Amp/Hours of power you may be better off with a 12v DC -> 230V AC inverter and a basic printer. As it happends I have a 24 pin dot matrix Epson which may be suitable. You could have a look here "Free will is an illusion. People always choose the perceived path of greatest pleasure" |

Thank's for the information.
The goal posts has now been moved. "It would look nice in colour" "Pink" I said I cannot tell you the reply. So I am going to try an inkjet and power it from an inverter for the moment. |
