Hi

The quick specs for this device do not indicate whether attachment of arrays is possible using the externally facing ports. ISL Trunking to other switches is mentioned but not arrays. Could someone shed some light.

I really do need to get on the c-class course!!

TIA
Andy

Hi Andy,

The external ports that you refer to are "SAN facing" ports, and therefore you can connect directly to either Storage enclosure (say MSA1000 / MSA1500), or other infrastructure switches. Hope that helps.
As regards training, HOST do particularly good 2 day, and 4 day c-Class courses my sources tell me!!

Regards

Paul

How do I get out of here?

Hi,
As far as I am aware, you only trunk between switches [ISL's] and not to storage or servers.
These should be cabled up to manufacturers recommendations eg: EVA as active/passive = crossed config as opposed to active/active = straight connection between switches.

MEA[T] - I think you misunderstood my question, it wasnt phrased that well unfortunately.

The point I was trying to ascertain was whether you can plug a storage array into the switches, as opposed to trunking between external switches.

Regards

Andy
