Help please!!!

I need some advice on a solution where I can install a MSA1000, have 5 servers (win2k3) attatched & replicate the data on the MSA1000 to another MSA1000 on a remote site over a 2mb sdsl link.

Is it a suitable solution????? Any help would be great...

Hello - seems to be very little response on this one !

HP OVSM is an entry level - Host-based solution which is designed for your type of environment, where hardware-based replication is not possible (as with MSA's) or too costly. It is a 'badged' version of a vendor product (Doubletake I think) - so maybe you should look closely at integration and compatibility with other hardware and software you have on site.


My understanding is that its a Windows-only product that uses a "source" and "target(s)" to replicate in synchronous, or asynchronous modes of operation - so latency, performance, and data integrity could be an issue - especially if theres a large amount of data to copy.
