Hello,
I am running SIM 5.2 and HP Storage Essentials 6.0. SIM has been running in our environment for some time with no problems. Yesterday I install HP Storage Essentials integrating it within SIM. I followed the install instructions - no problems. However when I try to "Deploy, Storage Essentials, License Manager, Manage Storage Essentials Keys..." I get the following error: "Your license or security setting does not give you access to the requested page." Can any one help me to deploy my licence? I'm not sure if this is related: In fact I get this error in any Storage Essentials options with exception to "Options, Storage Essentials, Manage Product Health". In the page that appears I can see that the account I have is SIMViewOnly. Even when following the instructions to create a priviledged account it is still SIMViewOnly. |

How do I get out of here? |
Hhhmmmmm........Why are you SIMViewOnly ????? - this is the 'default' privilage level for all HPSIM users.
If you installed this product you must have had sufficient privilages at that time - did you log in as someone else ??. Look in the top left corner of the SE screen to see who SE thinks you are - you will need high-level permissions under SE to administer it. Go to Tools->Storage Essentials->System Manager -> then the "users". (-or configuration ->Security from within SE) Select 'edit' - for the user your username - then assign yourself the "Domain Admin" role. Catch22 though - you need privileges to modify this stuff in the first place !!!!!! If you've already done this - you may need to restart Appstormanager to pick up the changes. Let me know how you get on Cheers, FT |
