Hello again,
I have an issue with an MSL5026 DLX lirary. It currently has a single tape drive installed & works fine. I installed a second drive. The library sees it ok, but the HP TapeTools cant see it properly & says it can't interrigate the library properly. TapeTools shows the Library & both drives, but has no firmware data for the second drive. I swapped the drives around & the fault stays with the slot - not the drive. I have checked all the SCSI cables & terminator & they are all ok. The Library is presented through an N1200 Router & has been working for about 4 years. The OS is Win2k server I have flashed the library to v520 & both drives are up to date. Any ideas - one for Finetuna I think!!!!! Thanks Steve |

How do I get out of here? |
Hello Shadders,
Sorry for the delay - Sounds like a configuration error to me..... Have you checked the E1200 mapping ??? - if the second drive isn't included in any of the maps presented to the Host server - it won't be seen, but it will be reported as a valid drive by the library, So this would be picked up by L&TT, even though L&TT can't see it over the Fibrechannel. If the O/S can't see the drive, then L&TT will have no visibility of it either. So...... suggest you look at the E1200 first - if you're sure the E1200 maps are OK - check the SCSI ID for the drive you added is higher than the SCSI ID set for the libary itself. Good Luck FT |

Hello - I forgot to reply to you about this!!!! Yes - you were right about the mapping. I did a scan on the n1200 & it picked up the second drive.
Thanks! |
